GATE Exam Details:
GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is an all-India examination conducted by IISC Bangalore and seven IITs on behalf of NCB-GATE, Ministry of Education, Department of Higher Education, and Government of India. Qualifying in this exam is important if you want to pursue post-graduation in IITs, NIITs, IIITs, CFTIs, or in any other state or private institution, basis on their eligibility criteria. Even financial assistance is provided for postgraduate programs with the Ministry of India and other Government scholarships, depending upon the admission criteria of the admitting institute. Some PSUs also use this test for recruitment and your GATE score is also given weightage by international universities.
It is conducted all across India through the test centers made in different cities. A total of 29 subjects or papers are available to choose from and a student can appear in a maximum of two papers. The duration of the exam is 3 hours and will be conducted in online mode, consisting of 65 questions in total. GATE exam contains General Aptitude, MCQs regarding the syllabus, and multiple select questions or numerical answer type questions.
